Sorry this is late, I had stuff going on. :P
It turns out the gun is *GASP* fake and the pink-haired girl runs off, before being found and hypnotizing the Tsukino family into taking her in (she ends up being called Chibiusa). Meanwhile, there's a new group of bad guys who want to destroy the Silver Crystal, lead by Prince Dimande (I can't help but call him Diamond).
I like this shot a lot.
The first attack comes with the enemy infuriating Rei's highschool during a festival. There's a battle (Sailor Moon gets a new wand), but Rei is captured and taken away.
There's actually some good to mention in this episode. There's some much needed character interaction between the girls and we even see Rei have some personality (sadly, she's now gone for most of the arc, with more characters to soon follow). THIS is what the series needs to focus on, not the romance between Usagi and Mamoru (I've always seen that as a weak point).
In addition to the added focus to the characters, there were also several comedy moments (my favorite being the umbrella hypnotizing scene). This, plus some actual facial expressions, made the episode a lot less derpy looking and feeling (there's still some serious anatomy issues). The manga got better after the first arc, so I hope the trend continues with Crystal. However, I have a bad feeling that Toei will continue to do stupid edits on the blurays and take away all the good expressions.
Leave the expressions, dammit!!
So yes, an improvement over the usual stuff, but still subpar.
This is here just because I like how it looks; I've always been a fan of Chibiusa's hair.
Let's not point out all the problems with this single frame.... Ugh.
You can watch all the episodes streaming on Crunchyroll, Hulu, NeonAlley, or NicoNico. Or if the original 90's is more your thing, you can watch it at Hulu (with two more episodes every Monday).
